SPEED OF LIFE is at Amazon and Indies and B&N and is now an Audible book. It's by far my most personal novel and the New York Times Book Review says: "funny, perceptive and moving...I laughed out loud and I teared up while reading this novel. ...” (Heck, I teared up reading this review!) New York Post calls it "Required Reading" and Kirkus, Publishers Weekly, School Library Journal and Booklist all gave it starred reviews. It's an ALA Notable Children's Books Nominee. May I read you the first page? TV: NY1 and Twin Cities Live. Radio: NPR's WOSU.
I've been "Dear Carol" at Girls' Life since 1994. SPEED OF LIFE's Dear Kate is inspired in part by girls' letters and also by my losing my dad when I was too young to bear it... The novel is for ages 11 and up and is about grief, first love and blending families. I promise you will enjoy it. I poured my heart into it!

The first of my 16 books, GIRLTALK: All the Stuff Your Sister Never Told You, came out in a dozen languages. AVA AND PIP, AVA AND TACO CAT, and AVA XOX are now in paperback. They're the diaries of a fifth grade "word nerd," ideal for ages 8 to 12. The New York Times says AVA AND PIP is "a love letter to language" and "perfectly captures the complexities of sisterhood." Enjoy this quick video about the series, available at Indies and Amazon.
